The Battlefield 4 multiplayer portion is the heart of the game. While many will appreciate the singleplayer campaign, the series is known for its exceptional multiplayer gameplay. As with previous games, Battlefield 4 multiplayer will feature numerous gameplay modes, maps, vehicles and more.
Battlefield 4 multiplayer will feature Battlefield 4 ranks, where players earn points and rank up, unlocking weapons and gadgets. Like previous games, there will be plenty of Battlefield 4 ranks to earn, including medals, ribbons and dog tags as well.
The point system is expected to carry over from BF3. In its basic form, players will get 100 points for a kill, up to 75 points for kill assist, 10 points for spot assist, 200 points for capturing a flag, 200 points for destroying a vehicle, etc. If you’re familiar with the point system in BF3, you’ll feel right at home in BF4.

Like past Battlefield games, Battlefield 4 will feature four Kits in the online Multiplayer. Each kit has its own role in team based combat.
Assault: The Assault Kit is the Medic of the team. They heal and revive fellow teammates with the Med Kit and Defibrillators. Now they can heal one soldier over time with a First Aid Kit, and they have new 40 MM Flashbangs.
Engineer: The Engineer Kit is the Engineer of the team. They repair friendly and destroy enemy vehicles with free-fire, lock-on, and wire-guided missiles and other tools. Engineer can use any PWD (also known as SMG) that is available.
Support: The Support Kit is the Heavy Gunner of the team. They lay down support fire with LMGs and indirect mortar fire, and supply ammunition to the team. Other explosives they can use include Claymores, C4, and the XM25.
Recon: The Recon Kit is the Reconnaissance member of the team. They relay intel to the team on enemy infantry and vehicle locations while providing sniper support. Recon can once again serve as the spec ops role with Carbines, C4 and Claymores.
Battlefield 4 proudly present the first group shot of Battlefield 4’s multiplayer kits, showing the Assault, Recon, Engineer, and Support kits from the Russian, U.S. and Chinese armies. A cool little benefits of owning our own servers is that we will be able to choose each maps opposing teams.
